Rock slice is mainly composed of glass slide, rock slide and cover glass.
Preparation process of rock slides:
1. First, select the unweathered part of the rock samples not collected in the field, and then cut them into appropriate sizes according to the glass slides with a saw blade.
2. Cut the prepared rock specimen into thin plates with a slicer according to the required orientation. If the rock is hard and dense enough, cut rock slices with a width of about 3~5mm. Grind one side of the cut rock block with 180 #, 500 #, 1200 # emery in turn. 2 wash the cut rock slice with water, put it on the iron grinding plate of the grinder for rough grinding, medium grinding and fine grinding. When it reaches 0.1mm, put it on the glass plate and use very fine emery powder (No. 800) to clean it. When it reaches about 0.03mm, polish it to make the polished surface very smooth and complete. Then clean it with clean water, and adjust the oven temperature to 47 ° to bake for 12 hours.
3. Attach the sample to the slide. First, thoroughly clean the sample, remove all loose abrasives and other residues, and after fixing, continue to grind the other side of the test surface to grind the glass sheet to translucency. Finally, put the ground to be flat, smooth and translucent on the glass plate, wash and dry the rock slices with appropriate thickness. Heat the glass slide on the alcohol lamp, apply a small amount of gum, heat it and cover it on the sheet. Pay attention to drive out all bubbles inside and dry it in the drying oven.
