How to correctly select monocular biological microscope

2022 06/17

As for how to buy a biological microscope, it is easy for some people who have come into contact with the microscope, but it is difficult for some new customers. In order not to let customers detour, they can directly buy a microscope suitable for their own use.

We can generally consider the selection of biological microscope from the number of eyepieces, optical parts, structural materials, light sources, etc.

1.microscopes can be divided into monocular, binocular and tricular microscopes according to the number of eyepieces used. If general users want a cheaper microscope, they should choose monocular microscopes. Generally, monocular microscopes are more suitable for primary school students, middle school students, some small clinics, and parents buy them for their children. They use more and the price is more affordable.

2.optical part: the core of microscope quality is its optical part, that is, eyepiece and objective lens. The objective lens can generally be divided into several levels. First, the achromatic objective lens. With this objective lens, not all imaging areas are clear, only about 60% of the field of vision is clear, and 40% of the peripheral parts will have certain defects. We usually put the observation part in the field of vision, so it does not affect the observation. However, if you want to have no defects in the field of vision, you need to use flat field achromatic objective lens. Relatively speaking, the price of this kind of lens will be much higher. It is generally used in medical treatment and scientific research. There is also a half flat field achromatic objective between the two. Students can choose the first two levels with the microscope.

3.structural materials: the service life of the microscope is very long, some of which can reach more than 10 years, so high-quality parts and tight assembly will become the guarantee of its service life. Therefore, the microscope with stable and solid frame should be selected. The material selection is alloy, which can reduce deformation. In addition, the lens shall be made of optical glass, and the exterior paint layer shall be smooth and uniform. Make sure that the microscope you buy is produced according to relevant general standards, so that you can easily buy relevant accessories in the future.

4.light source: generally, there are three light sources for microscope: tungsten filament lamp, fluorescent lamp and halogen lamp. Tungsten filament lamp is also called incandescent lamp. The advantage of this kind of lamp is that it is cheap and can provide a stable light source. The disadvantage is that the light emitted is obviously yellow, which will affect the observation. In addition, it generates too much heat, which will affect some materials when observed for a long time. Therefore, if the microscope is a tungsten filament lamp, the price is relatively cheaper. The fluorescent lamp can provide a light source similar to the sunlight, and the heat generated is also very small. Moreover, the fluorescent lamp with the same power is much brighter than the incandescent lamp. Therefore, the fluorescent lamp will save more power, and the price will be more expensive. The general price is more than 10000 for the whole family, and some are twenty or thirty thousand, and the imported one is even more expensive. Halogen lamps can provide very bright and white light sources. Generally, they are equipped on microscopes, and the price will be more expensive. Therefore, for colleges and universities, there is no need to select them.
