Method of making plant slide specimens:
1. Select the blade: place the fresh blade flat on the glass slide, and use the blade to remove the base of the blade, the tip of the page and both ends of the blade, leaving a rectangular lobule with the main vein in the middle. Note that the selected leaves should be fresh
2. Cutting plant materials: because we have a cross-section here, we can press one end of the material with tweezers, pinch the blade with our right hand, and cut the leaves along the vertical direction of the main leaf vein. Every time we cut the blade, stick it with water, and put the thin cut leaves into the Petri dish containing clear water
3. Material selection and production: use tweezers to select the thinnest slice from the water. First, drop the material you need to dye on the slide, then lay the thin leaf section flat and unfold, and cover the slide. Remember how to extract onion tissue? All of them get thin skin by tearing the onion skin.
4 observation: observe the complete and clear cross-sectional structure of the blade. Follow from the whole to the local, first find out where the cells are located by small multiples, and then adjust the brightness and multiples by local amplification to get a better field of vision and clarity.
5 cleaning: wash the slides and Petri dishes, restore the equipment, put the waste into the designated container, and form a good habit of experiment.
